
Ann Clare Barr – Head of School
Having served as Pinelake’s Head of School from 2001-2007, Ann Clare was excited to return to PCS in 2010. Originally from the Mississippi Delta, the Barr family moved to Rankin County in 2001. Ann Clare and her husband, Barry, have been married 27 years, and they stay busy with four children, Rebecca, BJ, Nathan, and Luke. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Masters degree in Administration and Supervision. She has served as a secondary math teacher, curriculum coordinator, elementary principal, and/or head of school at several public and private schools across the state. Additionally, she has served as an accreditation team member for other schools seeking SAIS/SACS accreditation. Ann Clare is a sports enthusiast, and when she isn’t cheering for her own children, she can be found at the Superdome cheering for the Saints! Although Ann Clare has a heart for education and administration, her greatest passion is quietly mentoring or counseling those who are experiencing a temporary struggle in their lives. She is totally surrendered to her God and is looking forward with anticipation to seeing what He has planned for PCS.

Leann Weathersby - Elementary Principal
Leann graduated from Copiah Academy. She spent four years in Starkville and graduated in 1992 from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with certification to teach Kindergarten through eighth grade. In 1993, she completed a Master of Education Degree in Administration/Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. In 2005, she returned to Mississippi College to pursue post graduate studies specializing in Elementary Education. Mrs. Weathersby has taught several different age groups and has been an administrator for several years in elementary schools that teach second through fifth grades. Her husband, Larry, attended First Presbyterian Day School and graduated from Copiah Academy. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Belhaven College in 1991. Larry has worked in this field for over fourteen years and is currently a Systems Administrator for the U.S. District Court in downtown Jackson. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their family and friends. Leann is happy to return to PCS. Previously, she spent time at PCS teaching second grade and Kindergarten. PCS has always held a special place in her heart for the wonderful Christian education it is providing for children in our community. She is very excited to be a part of such an exceptional educational team and to be a service to the students and families at Pinelake Christian School.

Sherrie Matthews - Admissions Director
Sherrie has been at Pinelake since 1980 and really has a heart for PCS. She has served PCS in a variety of rolls. She has led PCS physical education classes, taught K3, and K4 and served K4 as a lead teacher for many years. She is married to Print and has two grown children, Print and Kelley and two wonderful grandchildren. She is a member of Pinelake Church.
Paige Muse - Receptionist
Paige has been the receptionist at PCS since 2003. Paige serves our front office with a joyous smile and an infectious laugh. You will surely be welcomed with a helpful greeting each time you enter our school. She is married to Tim Muse and have four children; Morgan, Mark, Michael, and Matthew. They attend Brandon Presbyterian Church where her husband has been pastor. Paige loves working at PCS.
Gail Edwards – Financial Director
Kindergarten
Kim Allen Kim has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She has
taught in Mize, Magee, Hernando and Southaven, Mississippi, and one year in
Bakersfield, California. She has taught K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades. She
has experience in both public and private schools. She is married to Mark.
Together they have three children, all of whom attended PCS.
June Goff June graduated with a B. S. degree from the University of Southern
Mississippi. Her degree is in Elementary Education with an emphasis in
reading and science. She has had additional studies at Jacksonville State
University and University of Mississippi. June has many years of teaching
experience. Her late husband, Steve, a retired Colonel from the United
States Army gave June the opportunity to move frequently as a result she
had the experience of teaching in several states as well as in public, private,
and Department of Defense schools. She has been teaching Kindergarten at
Pinelake since 1993. She has three married children and seven
grandchildren that she adores! When she thinks about teaching
Kindergarten, it makes her smile. It is so much fun, there is no other way to
describe my day in the classroom other than it is a blast! Pinelake School is
a wonderful school to work and teach. It also has an outstanding, creative,
and dedicated faculty and staff. She looks forward each day to having the
opportunity to teach and be a part of this ministry. The parents and the
children are terrific!
First Grade
Michelle Canard
Michelle graduated from God's country, AKA Mississippi State University, in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She has several years of teaching experience. She began teaching at PCS in 2003. She and her husband, Shannon, have two sons, Tucker and Ty.
Jillian Gundy Originally from Hattiesburg, Jillian grew up in a wonderful Christian home.
She went to school at another PCS, Presbyterian Christian School were she
learned first hand the benefits of Christian education. She accredits her
Christian education into shaping her into the person she is today. Jillian
graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She taught in Nashville after graduation before moving back to
Mississippi and is thankful that the Lord has placed her here at PCS since
2008. Jillian has always wanted to be a teacher and loves coming to work
everyday! She sees teaching as a ministry and is a member of Pinelake
church. Jillian is very grateful for the opportunity to be a first grade
teacher here at Pinelake!
Second Grade
Dawn Martin Dawn is married to Dennis Martin and they have two children, Madison and
Dennis. Dawn has been with PCS since 2006. She grew up in Madison and the
Reservoir and graduated from The University of Mississippi with a Master’s
in Elementary Education. She is a member of Pinelake Church. She loves this
school and loves children. She feels very blessed to work at PCS.
Mary Wallace Mary has many years experience in both public and private school. She has
taught both music and lower elementary. Mary has earned a Master’s Degree
in reading and a Bachelor’s Degree in music and she has a passion for
teaching. God has blessed her with a love for teaching and for children and
she is so excited to be a part of the PCS family. Mary has been with PCS
since 2007.
Third Grade
Konnie Risinger
Konnie has been teaching for over ten years and has taught in England, Missouri, Georgia, and of course, in her home state of Mississippi. She feels like returning to Pinelake is “coming home again.” She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from The University of Southern Mississippi. After working on her Master’s at Mississippi College, she is also ‘highly qualified’ to teach secondary English. Konnie has three children, Mallory, Brody and Tress. Pinelake Christian School is a family of women dedicated to loving their students and the Lord. Konnie is thankful to be a part of this “community” again.
Jill Wall
Jill has been teaching for 27 years in Christian schools. She has taught K4, K5, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades as well as library and resource classes. She began teaching at PCS in 2007. She has also taught developmental reading classes at Hinds Community College. Jill graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and from Mississippi College with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with certification in remedial reading. She is married to Bruce Wall and they have four married children and three precious grandchildren. Jill is excited about teaching at Pinelake and believes that Christian education is God's calling for her life.
Fourth Grade
Didi Williams
Didi is a graduate of Mississippi State University where she was a member of the MSU Pom Squad. She is married to Kent Williams and they have two children, Sam and Shelby. She has been teaching since 1990 and has been a teacher at PCS since 1999. She is a member of Pinelake Church. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She has a heart for PCS and a passion for teaching.
Fifth Grade
Patti Brantley
Patti has lived all her life in Mississippi. She graduated from Mississippi College and has been teaching since 1980, and at PCS since 2002. She has a wonderful husband, Kevin, and two great sons. Patti's hobbies are flower gardening, watching westerns, and traveling with her husband. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon.
Betty Rhodes
Betty has been teaching since 1969 and has been with PCS since 2005. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women in 1967. She taught in Columbus, Mississippi and at Brandon Elementary before moving to Pearl, Mississippi, where she taught for 33 years. She has a National Board Teaching Certificate. She is married to Willie Rhodes from Brandon. They have a 200 acre farm with 100 head of cattle. Willie works for E-Z Wheels. He sells Kabota tractors. She has two grown sons. Jason Wheat is married to Lisa and they have two daughters, Sidney and Summer. Both of Betty's granddaughters attend Pinelake. Her youngest son is Justin and he is married to Lisa and they have a daughter, Addison Grace and Marley Kate. Betty is a member of Pinelake Church. She loves being a spectator at almost all sports. She loves "playing" on the computer and making web pages and PowerPoint presentations. She also enjoys going to the movies and loves to read. Mainly she just loves spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol Booth - Library
Carol graduated from Belhaven College with a degree in elementary education with a minor in Christian education. After retiring from teaching in the Brandon public schools, Carol subbed at First Presbyterian Day School and the Brandon Elementary School Library. In 2002 she became the librarian here at PCS. What a blessing this has been for her! Carol and her husband, Bob have a daughter, Kathryn; a son-in-law, Brady; an adorable grandson, Ford; and a beautiful granddaughter Mary Clayton and a spoiled stray cat, Miss Kitty. Bob and Carol are members of Brandon Presbyterian Church.
Lydia Goodman - Music
Pam Varner – Athletic Director
A native of Brandon, Pam Varner graduated from USM with degrees in both Deaf Education and Elementary Education. She is married to Keith and they have two sons, Josh and Dylan. Pam has been with PCS since 2003. Previously she taught first grade before transitioning to P.E. Pam loves teaching P.E. and was recently trained by Project Fit to enhance the physical education program at PCS. Pam and her family are active members of Pinelake Church and can be found at their son’s sporting events during her free time.

Betty Rhodes
Betty has been teaching since 1969 and has been with PCS since 2005. She is a
National Board Certified Teacher. She is married to Willie Rhodes from Brandon.
She has two grown sons and 4 granddaughters and is expecting a grandson in
December. Betty is a member of Pinelake Church. She loves being a spectator at
almost all sports. She loves “playing” on the computer and making web pages and
PowerPoint presentations. She also enjoys going to the movies and loves to read.
She loves spending time with her grandchildren.

Leigh Ann Parten
Leigh Ann is the wife of Steve Parten for 18 years and mom of three boys: Micah,
Noah, and Caleb. She is a child of The King and her heart’s desire is to bring Him
glory in all that she does. She graduated from Pearl High School in 1988, and then
attended Hinds Community College and graduated from the University of Southern
Mississippi with a degree in Elementary Education. Leigh Ann and her family moved
to MS in 2006 after living in South Florida for six years. Her husband serves as
Family Pastor at Pinelake Church and this is her first year at PCS. Leigh Ann has
taught in both the public and private school setting. She is a “sports mama” (she
has to be having three boys) and loves spending time with her family.

Konnie Risinger
Konnie has been teaching for twelve years and has taught in England,

Michelle Canard
Michelle is a native Brandon girl who graduated from Mississippi State
University in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She
began her teaching career in Tennessee and soon returned home to
Mississippi. She has over 10 years of teaching experience in preschool,
kindergarten and grade school. She began teaching at PCS in 2003. She has
two sons, Tucker and Ty, who are truly a blessing from the Lord.

Mallory Adamson
Mallory recently moved to the Jackson area from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She attended Michigan State University where she earned her B.S. in
elementary education with minors in both English and Spanish. She is
currently pursuing her Masters degree in literacy education as well. Mallory
attends Pinelake's Madison campus. Prior to her move to Mississippi, Mallory
taught first grade in Michigan and Chicago. Mallory loves the southern
weather, southern hospitality, and most of all, SEC football! Mallory is so
grateful for the opportunity to be teaching kindergarten at PCS, adores her
students, and is so excited to be working in such a wonderful community of
staff and families!
